I first went with friends and thououghly enjoyed the experience. The owner is a charming host and the food is some of the best I have sampled on 5 continents. There are 2 restaurants - Carne and Marisco - meat and seafood. As a dedicated carnivore I normally go to Carne. My advice, sleep in, reserve a table at Marius, spend the day at the beach and ...

Better go to Porcao
By A Yahoo! Contributer, 07/01/05
Overpriced and catering to tourists. More interesting decor, but the meat lets it down compared to other rodizios. Marius fish is better. If you want better food for the same price, go to Porcao...Ask your driver for Porcao Rios which has an excellent view of sugar Loaf

Variety is the spice of life...
By A Yahoo! Contributer, 01/20/05
Marius staff and management pay attention to the details, a sign of a well-run establishment. There are fresh rose petals on the tables and also in the (ladies) bathroom. The buffet has plenty for everyone, which means that some stuff may not appeal to you but it appears to be well prepared (i.e the traditional Brazilian bean dish). We ate at ...

Horrible seafood and an even worse price of $70 per person
By A Yahoo! Contributer, 08/09/06
Everything about Marius Crustaceos in the Leme neighboorhood of Rio de Janeiro (Brazil) was tacky and over-priced. The all-you-could-eat seafood was not good and even worse than the food was the check when it arrived -- US $70 -- and this was the price just for 1 person.

Don't Miss Marius in Rio!
By A Yahoo! Contributer, 03/24/05
The only place we liked better was Mio, an incredible Italian restaurant in Ipenama (absolutely don't miss it), but this was Number One for Brazilian BBQ...all the meats brought to the table by the carvers were good, but the roasted pork, wild boar, and pork ribs stole the show.
We arrived ealy and were virtually the only ones there when we ...

Go to this place
By A Yahoo! Contributer, 02/20/05
For Brasilian standard it is quit expansive (30 euro) but at home (europe) you would pay triple. We went to the fish restaurant at Marius, wich is quit a busy but friendly place. You can not amazine how much fish you can eat at this place. Lobster, shrimps (big ones) Oysters, Krab etc......and as much as you like. The service is realy good. Make a reservation! Have fun and enjoy Martin

House of Food
By A Yahoo! Contributer, 12/25/07
Very unique ambiance that is hard to describe. Ship Galley meets semi precious stone quarry. Ya that ought to confuse you. My wife had the meat lovers delight, I had the seafood.
Think super well prepared fare in salad bar format. Salad means oysters, sushi, olives, etc.
Then main course. Roving staff with cutting boards and knives ...

Loved it!
By A Yahoo! Contributer, 04/24/07
I went to Marius while in Rio, 3 yrs ago, and I must say it was a truly grand gourmet experience! Everything, the beautifully arranged all-you-can eat bar, with all kinds of sea food, meat, various Brazilian specialties resting on hundreds of kilos of ice, main course(s) which the really nice and helpful staff keeps delivering to You freshly done, ...
