The Palermo racetrack is in the heart of the city, a quick taxi ride from anywhere. Just ask for "el hipodromo de Palermo". It is a very safe place.

Admission is a paltry five pesos and the place is grand - a little faded but still stately and impressive, a monument to the glory days of pre-Peron Argentina.
