they employ some cool ways of displaying the aquatic life, and the interactive aspects (e.g. aquarium where you can 'feel' your way around a small aquatic ecosystem) really won me over

Awesome!!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 05/13/06
Loved it! Best aquarium been to! Indoor and outdoor viewing. Great walk-thru tunnel where can see sharks and other marine life up close!! Beautiful coral viewing area also! Must see!!
Just went to the Aquarium for the second time and really enjoyed it although I wouldn't consider it the best acquarium I've seen (Chicago and Monterey acquariums are more impressive). What's nice is that it specializes in Australia's marine life and covers all areas well. Most spectacular are the exhibits where you walk through glass tunnels while fish and sharks swim around you. Those exhibits alone are worth the entry fee.

The Sydney Aquarium
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 06/03/06
I loved the Sydney aquarium because of many reasons; the first reason is that the selection of fish that they have are quite incredable and some (Rainbowfish) are available at your local fish shop. You can stare at the fish for hours and hours and still find it very enjoyable and interesting and there were many useful facts about the fish that were ...

Disappointed at first
By mary_gill70, 07/22/07
We had just landed in Sydney and we needed to kill a decent chunk of time until our hotel room was ready. We were just walking around the city when I saw the aquarium and suggested we go. When we first went it I thought I had picked a horrible place to go and thought my friends and husband would ban me from picking anything else. That was until we went to see the sharks! It was really interesting.

An interesting tour of THE SEA
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 06/15/07
I enjoyed my visit to the Aquarium, but at the end of my day found it a lot to take in all at once. The larger pools, seals, etc. were nice to see. The poor croc seemed a bit cramped in his little habitat. I found the twisting/turning tunnel-like access to the larger pools, although a good use of limited space, a bit tedious, especially when the ...

Excellent

Good value. Excellent layout. All the exhibits were in excellent condition. Do not miss this if visiting Darling Harbour. It makes aquariums in England look tacky. (Especially Brighton - yuck !)

Fantastic!
By emily_vdh, 02/20/07
The walk through tanks were unforgettable! As you walked in the fish and sharks were swimming above you, it seemed as though they were flying. They were much larger in person! I could have spend the entire day there, plan to stay atleast 3 hours as the tanks are worth taking your time.
the aquarium was not that big at the time, but very good. the shark tank was absolutely excellent, the way you can walk around under the tank. its a great place for the kids. a place must see .
