We went here when the sculptures by the sea exhibit was going on and walked from Tamarama Beach(the next beach over) to Bondi and back. It was an amazing walk! I was totally fascinated by the rocky cliffs..so beautiful. Bondi Beach itself is pretty small but there's lots of stores and restaurants on the little strip by the road along the beach.

Over rated!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 05/10/07
I don't know if it was because I worked everyday for 2 months at Bondi but, I really think Bondi Beach is quite over rated. I found it far too busy and full of absolute posers! If thats your thing, then you'll love it. Also what out for the rip tides. Was unfortunate to get caught up in one. Don't swim against it though. I found Coogee Beach much better and cleaner, and full of better eye candy.

Bondi has everything
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/18/06
Bondi Beach was everything I expected of Australia. All kinds of friendly people and great outdoor dining. There's also some great nature trails to other beaches. Don't be intimidated to take the bus to Bondi, it's quite easy.

Too crowded

Bondi Beach is too crowded. If you must go to a beach, choose another one. All the water around the Australian coast are rough so be prepared

Too big and rough
By uplange, 12/29/05
This beach, contrary to its reputation, did not impress me at all. It is too big and the sea is too rough for me. I recommend the beach in Watsons Bay. Very small, quiet and the sea is really nice and calm. You have the chance to see Sydney skyline in the background.

Yesterday's Hero
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/31/06
A filthy place which was once the jewel in the crown of Sydney. On one hand the council has tarted up the streets and then the once vibrant shopping strip is disappearing/going broke because of a coucil parking inspectors who are scaring shoppers away. As seen on TV!
It is slowly becoming like Sahara Desert, everyone knows where it is but fewer ...

a must see
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 12/30/05
if you are in sydney , then definately go see Bondi Beach......... there is a lovely beach walk that starts at Bondi Beach and goes to Bronte Beach. If you prefer a less crowded beach then i recomment Maroubra Beach, its bigger and there are less people there. I think it tends to be a little easier to swim in also.

Beautiful Bondi
By darkeyes1955, 06/07/05
Bondi Beach is a fun and beautiful place to stay. Lot's of night life, etc, but the beach was the big draw for me. My sons had fun watching the life savers (life guards) go through their drills, and I have to admit, they are pretty impressive.
It was great! I can't wait till the next time we visit down under and check out the famous sights like Bondi Beach. It was a bit crowded though but nevertheless we had a blast and enjoyed our meal at one of the restos nearby.

Good beach...
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 04/21/07
Pretty good place. It's fun and full of good looking people. The water is a bit cold, but the beach is nice and the environment is great. Go get a smootie from "Sejuiced" to cool off. I wonder if Australia just might have other beaches that are better...I've heard rumors.
