Staying at the resort will be ideal if you're looking to spend your time on the island just laying on the beach and drinking beer. Though from the resort you can book a lot of excursions, groups are big and most of the time you can end up disapointed - example: snorkelling - group included about 25-30 or more individuals and 45% of these ...

  • Very Nice a must if your visitng Brisbane
    By A Yahoo! Contributor, 04/14/06
Island is beautiful, nice sandy beaches and beautiful clear water. Did some snorkeling and though chilly at first was a very nice experience. Saw lots of turtles and some dolphins swimming around our boat. Only thing i would change about the trip would be to spend more time on the island.

Forget Tangalooma. It's a resort. Go camping, see what nature has to offer. Get the sand between your toes.
Morton Island is a 1hr barge ride from Brisbane across Morton Bay. If you can be responsible; hire a 4WD and see the whole island. Camp at Comboruro Point it's great. Visit 'The Desert' (a massive sandblow) at dawn. Go to the lakes. It's all beautiful. But have respect - we want it to stay that way.
