ALL PENNS ARE DIFFERENT

I don't know why, but of all the Penn's around the Jackson metro area I have only found one to be really good. This is their restaurant located on Fannin Rd. I only live a couple of miles from the one in downtown Brandon and on a scale of 1-10 I would rate it around a 3 compared with the Fannin store. Penns is just so inconsistent. They ...

The food is great and the price isn't that bad. The service is homely. Go and enjoy! Occasionally you get some lazy cooks, but the waitresses are very accomodating.

Bad Chicken

I had tried eating there several times and any time I eat the chicken rather it be grilled, fried or on a stick I always end up with diarrhea. Everything else in the places is ok, not much flavor to anything though.

REALLY disappointed...

First, you should know that the main draw here is the buffet. We should have walked when we saw it. However, we stayed and ordered from the menu thinking we would get fresher food. What a disappointment! I ordered the shrimp and oyster combination. I got 4 soggy, incredibly small oysters and 6 overcooked shrimp...and about a pound of soggy french ...

Wife and I had heard good thing about this place up in Gluckstat, MS. Decide to ride up from Madison to try it. Poor food quality and scarce service did not enoucourage me to go back. I figured it would have been much better on a Friday night. I'll be contacting the owner to express the concerns as this place is off the beaten path and will need qaulity food and service to survive.

Lookin' for that country taste?

I think that Penn's Fish House would be my number one pick for that nice country homestyle fish that we all dream about at times. The food quality is great, and the service is just like as if you were back at home with the family. The family who owns the restraunt is also a "plus" to the factor. If it's your first time to Mississippi, I recomind that you visit Penn's Fish House in Mississippi, for the nice country feeling!!
