I eat at the Mayflower Cafe every time I am in Jackson on business. The fish and seafood are always fresh and top notch. The cumback sauce is the best I've ever had and the atmosphere just adds to a great experience. The Mayflower is the best eat place in Jackson.

I was a Police Officer in Jackson in the late 70's and when you worked downtown, the Mayflower was THE PLACE. The food, the service....everything was ALWAYS THE BEST. If I ever get back to Jackson, the Mayflower will be on my list of places to visit.

The Best Seafood in Jackson!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 02/12/07
I've been eating at the Mayflower for 15 years now, and I've never had a bad meal. The fish is ALWAYS fresh and delicious. The fried onion rings and fried crab claws are by far the best around. The broiled redfish and shrimp are always delicious, and the homemade comeback dressing is to die for. The staff is friendly, and service is always good. Consistant, Delicous, Fresh!

It is One of kind nothing like it

We loved food and the servers was great. There is a warm feeling when you go in and the history behind it. There was one server that caught our eye. She was always smiling and laughing with evey customer not just hers about everybody. The customers seemed to love it she calls everyone baby and she makes you want to "comeback". She was ...

What a great place!!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 04/06/06
I'm from New Orleans and was recently in Jackson, with two friends, to see my daughter at Millsaps. We are spoiled by the restaurants at home, but the Mayflower "felt right" the minute we walked in. Our waitress was terrific, the decor was fun, the food was delicious. My scallops were perfect and my friends raved about their fish and ...

Dont waste your time

In deferance to the owner, who died recently, my condolences to the family. But the restaraunt still has to rank at the bottom of my list of places to eat. I had lunch there every day for 2 weeks while working downtown (Because it was closest and I had to) and the place is dirty, period. The food was generally cold and tasteless and the flatware ...

A partisan review
By americanscipio, 09/09/05
First up: I attend church with the owners, so consider that bias.
The seafood is excellent. If you've never eaten there, the redfish is the first thing you should try. Big, tasty portions. Also, the best scallops I've ever had, and I've had scallops in every Atlantic coast state, in many fine restaurants.
Lunch is a typical ...
