  • Pilgrimage for music lovers and aspiring musicians
    By A Yahoo! Contributor, 09/15/07
EMP Seattle - You can love it or you can dismiss it. It has the possibility of being a shrine and it also reeks of technology. True intellect is, however, the ability to hold contradictory thoughts in ones mind simultaneously and still live in peace inside your head.
Thus, while the technology overtures at EMP Seattle sometimes tend to irritate ...

  • As a Rock Fan , Dissappionted
    By A Yahoo! Contributor, 09/05/07
I stood outside and wondered if I should give it a try after reading the bad reviews before I arrived in town. My wife isn't a music fan at all but said she would go with me if I wanted to see it. I decided since I didnt know when I would be back I would go see it. I was totally dissappionted in the whole thing. The 'Tower of Guitars' ...

  • Boring!
    By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/13/07
I took my family to EMP on July 20, 2007. First it cost a fortune, then parking cost a fortune - but luckily we didn't show up the next day - parking was $20 regardless of how long you stayed because of the "Bite of Seattle" thing going on.

We did not make it to the sci fi museum, because I think EMP was so tedious and trying on ...

  • Fun afternoon at the EMP
    By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/13/07
From recent reviews I was a little skeptic but our family really enjoyed ourselves. The $15 price was a decent value for both musuems. If your into music history and hands on, it is a good time. We had an excellent time on the second floor making music and doing a real session. I would recommend it to others.
More music selection would of been ...

The EMP, is a great place for those who just would like to take a break from the normal frustrations and difficulties of everyday living. Go to the EMP and learn about your favorite kind of music. Or you could go and learn about a new kind of music. Or just relax in the wonderful atmosphere of the EMP. Or you can go to the EMP and have a ...

  • Nice Collection
    By chiuszeto, 03/27/07
    - Extensive collection around music, but they all wind up looking like the same after a while
    - A little bit out of the way from the down town area and other tourist spots

  • Save your money
    By A Yahoo! Contributor, 02/18/07
A couple nice Hendrix bits, but other than that its like everything else about Seattle...overhyped, overpriced, boring. Not worth the extravagant admission price. If you want one of the computerized audio guides with headphones you have to pay even more?

  • Excellent for music fans
    By A Yahoo! Contributor, 02/10/07
I loved EMP. very amazing stuff inside, including Nirvana's first recording contract with sub-pop records, hand written lyrics and a ton of other treasures, also there was an amazing Hendrix portion. and the floor where you go, and play instruments in "sound-proof" rooms! I had a blast, and I will definately come again, although if ...

  • Lower the price
    By A Yahoo! Contributor, 01/31/07
The EMP was quite interesting and the interactive portion of the museum was fun but I don't think it was worth the price of admission. I wouldn't recommend it to people on a budget because of the price. But if it was lowered I may go again.

  • I really enjoyed it!
    By A Yahoo! Contributor, 12/08/06
it is definitely a museum for folks who want to spend the time to fully process each display. In response to those who said it costs to much, do you realize that part of the admission fee goes toward funding educational opportunities?
