I was visiting my niece in Seattle, we along with her Husband, and two children visited the Space Needle on Veterans Day. It was a wonderful experience, we had lunch at the top, the service was excellent, and the food was great. I came to Seattle via the Amtrak Train, starting from Memphis, Tn. going to Chicago,IL & then to Seattle. I must say ...

we can't wait to go back, but is has to be when it is warm
there is nothing to say about Seattle, I was born and raised in the great Pacific Northwest. I do miss all the fresh seafood. the waterfront with all the hustle and bustle of the boat, ferries, small shops.

space needle a must do

go early so that the lines are not so long if going in warm weather. If you are going to do the Duck ride reserve before doing the Needle to make sure you will have a spot. I agree with others that this area is not kid friendly. No food-except a coffee shop up there but the view is so worth it!

Can't wait to go back

Loved everything about it. I was working there. On my time off I took the ferry to Seattle. I dined at the Space Needle with my daughter and son-in-law who flew up from Connecticut. They can,t wait until I go back so they can come and visit Washinton again. The most beautiul state I have ever seen. So much to do.
If you're going to the space needle, go at sunset. The view changes dramatically, from seeing the city in the daylight, to beautiful sunset views over the water, and then the gorgeous lights of the city as it gets darker. Buy a coffee and sit at a little table to enjoy the views.
The Space Needle is a very daunting and tremendous sight in Seattle. The elevator ride was smooth and seamless with a great view of downtown Seattle. The observation deck is open with multiple bincolars for your viewing pleasure. This is a must see in Seattle.
The Space Needle and the surrounding grounds, called the Seattle Center, are a must see for any visitor. Since the Space Needle is iconic to Seattle, you'd be silly not to pay the $15 to go to the top and take in the city. Great views during the day or if it's cloudy, I'd recommend going at night to see the lovely city lights and ...

For $18 you get to ride an elevator, look through (free) telescopes and buy snacks at NFL prices.
Its OK, I went with my son who REALLY wanted to go (but was waiting for the surprise at the top that was not forthcoming).
