It was fun to visit to say I had been there, but nothing too exciting. I liked learning about it. It was hot and it is almost sad that they call it the "Great" Salt Lake when I didn't see anything great about it. It is such a waste of water. If you are a water person, it makes you want to cry that there is so much water and no use ...

unforgetful in my life

It is the most beautiful island I have ever seen. It is the true nature with astonishing view, especially on sunset. variety of animals and plants. The best is camping. I will spent a week next visit. It is a ideal spiritul land.
Antelope Island is very close to urban space yet it affords visitors with plenty of natural scenery and abundant flora and fauna. I like the fact that with just a little patience you can identify an average of ten to fifteen different animal species per visit. I have used the island for over 35 yrs. and the improvements continue. Walking, hiking, ...
Last weekend we went as a family to Antelope Island. Being new to the area we were unawarer of the lovely little creatures called Brine Flies that land on your heads to feast. Boy those itch!!!!!!! Other than the annoyance of those bugs, the sights were beautiful and breathtaking. We saw antelope, bison, jack rabbits, a field mouse, a snake, ...

This is what Bufflao look like!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 04/03/05
Yes, there are buffalo there, and other wildlife. The state has spent time and money to develop the island, and insure the island will not be effected by the vistors on land or animals. A great attraction for a afternoon.

Bugs! No buffalo! No antelope!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 03/10/05
I camped here once as a boy scout. I circled the island on foot to scout out any buffalo. I never saw one.
Theres usally a heck of a lot of bugs, especially ones that cover your car driving in.
And I can't believe they actually charge you $$$ to see this place.
And why do they call it antelope island?

My Spiritual Center in Utah
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 02/24/05
I LOVE Antelope Island! The coyotes, the jackrabbits, the bison! I love it all. The island is my spiritual center in Utah. Please contact the Utah legislature and tell them that you DO NOT WANT people to be allowed to hunt the (semi-tame) deer and antelope on the island!

A lot of my friends call it a smelly Island but I like it in November especially because the weather is not so hot and dry out there. Beautiful views of the Great Salt Lake
