My family and I enjoyed the Alamo, but it was quite a bit smaller than I had imagined. It only took us about 1.5 hrs. to go through the whole thing. I really loved its downtown location, because it was close to some other attractions.

For those who have never been to the Alamo, this is a nice place to get sidetracked for a half-hour and see a famous church turned fortress. Do not plan a morning or afternoon around this unless you're a big history buff. The interior of the main building is filled with relics from the battle and those who fought in the battle. That would take ...

A convenient stop
By whiteysax2, 05/02/05
Very interesting for the historical buff. Also holds much cultural interest with the mix of American and Mexican history. The location doesn't add anything to the experience, but the actual grounds of the Alamo are a nice tourist spot. It has been made up to be quite touristy, though. Definitely worth spending an hour or so checking out, if anything, to say you were there.

Thing minute thing to do
By Dimitrianne L, 04/28/05
I went during the middle of summer and towards closing time, but I was able to walk around and enjoy the beauty. The place was very relaxing, I only wished that I had more time to walk around as we got there about 10 mintues before closing.

Disappointed
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 04/03/05
I was very excited to go and see The Alamo but when I got there I thought gosh this was really built up to be something great and huge and once I was there it was a let down. I think it is a little overrated and I would not go back to see it again.

I thought the Alamo was very interesting. We did not end up seeing everything because it was so crowded.

The Alamo
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 03/23/05
The Alamo is a very overated experiance. It's right in the middle of Down Town San Antonio, and if you have ever been in the center of any large city then you can imagine it. If there were more natural landscaping still left then it may be more of a thing to go see, however it's surrounded by run down buildings and dirty streets. I would ...
