What isn't to love about the McNay? An impressive collection of beautiful art from some of the great masters of Impressionism and modern art, in a gorgeous setting, both building and grounds. I spend as much time studying the rooms themselves as I do the art; after all, the McNay was an actual home at one time. Ms. McNay designed some of the ...

The museum itself is worth the visit. The grounds are spacious and beautifully landscaped and maintained. The building is two-story and is centered around a huge atrium. The building is a work of art in itself.
The art collection is impressive for such a small institution. There is both wall hanging art and scupture. The displays don't ...

One of the most exciting experiencies in art!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/17/06
I liked everything. It was just fun to have "at hand" so many pieces of art. We have to thank Miss MacNay for having the idea of acquiring a variety of pieces of art that give to the art beginner (and to the professional of art as well) the sense of what loving and enjoying art is.
Beautiful well kept museum. An incredible experience. This would be most enjoyed by anyone who appreciates the beauty of art. Learning about the artist and their creations ahead of visiting makes the experience much more appreaciating.
If you love art this is the place to visit. The McNay museum has a great colection of art work that includes Picaso, Renoir, Dega, River. Also some great sculptures in bronce. Beautiful gardens. Excellent for adults, not so good for small childrent.

The architecture is just beautiful, the collection is uncomparable and the grounds are so gorgeous. The site of many weddings and portrait sessions, this is one of the most beautiful places to take a nice stroll with a lover. Plenty of spots to have many romantic moments. And...it is free to visit!

I loved everything about it!!!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/23/05
I liked the overall beauty of the place.Driving through and seeing all the beautiful trees and flowers, the landscape was just magnificent!!Walking inside was so beautiful!!!
What a wonderful surprise! A small but solid art collection in a fabulous Southwestern-style mansion. My favorite Mondrian I've ever seen; Picasso sketches, a good selection of Impressionists, sculpture of a nice variety, an interesting traveling exhibit while we were there, breathtaking architecture, well-tended gardens, and a jolly gift shop. Our whole group enjoyed our visit, from the 12-year-old up to the 55-year-olds.
