  • GREAT FUN FOR EVERYONE
    By A Yahoo! Contributor, 05/09/05
Great for the kids...they loved the Cockerell Butterfly Exhibit. Butterflies actually landed on their clothing. Hint: Where brightly colored clothes. My son wore a bright green and attracted many butterflies. My daughters wore turquoise and no butterflies landed on them.

The IMAX is always a hit, but check ahead to see what's playing. ...

  • Good but pricey!

The exhibits were really nice but the cost was too much. Skip the special exhibits and just go to the butterfly exhibit, it was worth it.

  • Great Place
    By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/15/05
I loved the museum...wish they had something besides McDonalds....but hey, like kids want 3 course meals. The "visitor services" kids were nice and helpfull. Gift shops were nice...like how they have a shop for kid and adult tastes. Gift shop staff, although busy, were very helpfull and friendly when i had a few questions. A little pricey i f you go to see eveything, but well worth it. Will visit again.

  • interesting

The main event changes ever so often, adding to variety. The butterfly exhibit is one of a kind. The IAMX is forever remembered. The dinosaur leaves you in awe.

    By ram, 10/01/05
good organised and well managed. lot of things to learn. good place for senior citizen.

i don't like the ticket price for everyshow, every even and for every place. Even to visit musuem we have to purchase ticket.

state need to rethink about this matter so that everybody can access these facilites free of cost. thanks.

  • Enjoyed

We enjoyed our visit enough to get a family membership so we could return throughout the year. Nice mineral exhibit when we were there.

  • Loved it!
    By Salwa, 05/24/06
I loved the dinosaurs displays, and the petroleum science section as well. Since Texas is huge on Oil&Gas, it's great that they have a section dedicated on that. And the huge pendulum's awesome! Loved the Native Americans Cultures section as well!

  • EDUCATIONAL AND FUN~~~
    By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/01/06
Very educational for people of all ages. It showed science from many different perspectives. I'm returning to school but don't want to make the wrong choice. I think this is the town for me and school will be fun and educational.

  • A huge squid scared my boy
    By Capt'n Mal's Dad, 10/08/06
We had a real good time touring the museum. My oldest boy was impressed with the interactive center where he got to play with a pendulum and mirrors and lots of buttons to push.

My wife and I learned a lot and had fun with our boys.

  • I've seen better
    By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/16/06
While the museum does have some interesting exhibits, I went through the whole place in just a few hours. I was surprised that many of the exhibits are not real artifacts; they are basically fakes made to look like the real thing. Given the size of the museum, the price for admission ($18 including one planetarium show) and $8 for parking, the value is below par. I did, however, like the general atmosphere of the museum district.
