My 7 yr old and her class went here. We really enjoyed it . There was alot of interesting facts presented. I also like the fact that there is a Mcdonalds inside. It is also very close the Herman Zoo and park.
This is a great place for kids...even my 2 boys who are not remotely interested in "the arts" love it once we get there. Our favorites include: Cockrell Butterfly Center (and the insect exhibit adjacent to), the globe fountain in the courtyard, IMAX, Planetarium, the hall of minerals, the paleontology hall and all of the visiting ...

NEVER going back.
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/12/07
Although the museum was clean, we went through the whole thing in 1.5 hours. Alot of the exhibits were relics, and the staff was unhelpful. The Ancient Rome exhibit had artifacts, but no information about them except for a couple sentences. Artifacts are all this museum has, and most aren't even real.

I've seen better
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/16/06
While the museum does have some interesting exhibits, I went through the whole place in just a few hours. I was surprised that many of the exhibits are not real artifacts; they are basically fakes made to look like the real thing. Given the size of the museum, the price for admission ($18 including one planetarium show) and $8 for parking, the value is below par. I did, however, like the general atmosphere of the museum district.
We had a real good time touring the museum. My oldest boy was impressed with the interactive center where he got to play with a pendulum and mirrors and lots of buttons to push.
My wife and I learned a lot and had fun with our boys.

By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/01/06
Very educational for people of all ages. It showed science from many different perspectives. I'm returning to school but don't want to make the wrong choice. I think this is the town for me and school will be fun and educational.

HMNS - Wonderful Variety of Things to See
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 09/09/06
I am a member of the HMNS and highly recommend it to all. There are many different features - you can see them all in one day or pick and choose what you want to see. The museum has great traveling exhibits - the best I recall seeing were the Titanic Artifact Exhibit and the just concluded Body Worlds 3. The permanent exhibits are worthwhile, ...
