The Children's Museum is full of great activities that kids can get their hands on and learn from. Many exhibits allow for parent participation and create an atmosphere where you can have fun and an opportunity to explain to your children a little bit about how the world works. The Children's Museum has a little something about science, culture, art, and a lot about fun.
It's way too crowded then .... Thursdays are free and nearly every one in Houston goes then. It's down town and the parking will cost you as well. It is fun to go once but once you have been there, it becomes, beem there done that.

Too disorganized
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 09/02/05
Overall a fairly nice place to take kids on a rainy day. The exhibits were nice and somewhat educational but they also seemed somewhat disorganized. Every time a child went to an exhibit and participated they left the center in disarray and nobody was around to reorganize things. I saw very few employees in the hour and a half that I was there. It is also not the place for you if you dont like children running over you every time you turn around.

Daughter loved it!!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/29/05
My daughter, who is 6 years old, absolutely loved the museum. She could not see enough or do enough. She can't wait to go back. Whenever we mention going to Houston for whatever reason, she chimes in with "Yeah, let's go back to the musuem!". She believes that there is nothing else to do in Houston. I am so grateful that she enjoyed her time there.
This is a great place to take the kids! Be sure to find out when they have teir family night and you can get in FREE! It get a bit crowded but the kids still have loads of fun.
The Children's Museum of Houston is the best hands on experience a kid can have. When you drive by the Children's Museum, you cannot miss it. It is a very big building with large children on the outside as well as being very colorful inside and outside. As you check in the kids are given stickers. Then you move onto the work tables which ...

Fabulous
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/19/05
This is an interactive museum, heavy on learning activities, not a displays in a glass case kind of place. There are zones set up for kids of all ages - babies to teens. Heavy on science for older kids, life skills and "general learning fun" for younger ones. It is clean and well staffed. It is worth the money, its fun for adults to play and learn with the kids. I highly recommend it.

My Five Year Old Boy LOVED IT!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/22/05
Four hours wasn't enough time there. Very hands-on. Great way to beat the Houston heat.
