Its magnificent architecture is unlike anything in the South. It looks like a palace. Its steeply pitched roofs and elongated chimneys make it seem to soar. Beautiful building materials and excellent craftsmanship everywhere you look.

So pretty!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 01/25/06
I was fascinated by this place from the moment we were let in the front doors, till we were let out the back. The size is of this place, it's just like...wow! On the inside it is very well kept and maintained. They even turn on the old automatic piano! Each room has a different fireplace, all of which are very pretty. The main stairwell has a ...

Great tour!
By pache100, 02/09/06
This is an exciting tour. You get a lot of history of Galveston and its citizenry over the years. You get insight into the Victorian architecture that was so popular during the settlement of the island and you get to see firsthand a prime example. And you feel that you come to know some of the historical figures who played a prominent part in Galveston's history and culture. Highly recommend this tour!

An Architectural Gem
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 03/28/06
The Palace is a rare treat to anyone's eyes. It's splendor will appeal to all ages as each room stretches your imagination of the believeable. Take the time to take the tour. This may well be one of the finest pieces of architecture one can see in North America as it ranks on top of the list with other great domiciles such as Mt. Vernon, ...

A Must SEE!
By MonaK, 10/16/06
The Bishop's Palace is certainly a 'Must SEE' when touring Galveston.
The home is totally restored to Victorian elegance with period furnishings and wallpaper throughout the home. The woodwork alone is worth touring this home to view.
All the tour guides were well informed and did their jobs excellent.

Really Enjoyed Myself
By chelle, 07/28/07
I enjoyed the tour very much and only wish I could have gone upstairs to the art studio. I can only imagine what it must have been like to live in such splendor. The guides were knowlegeable and the house was great. If you are impressed with attention to details and these old houses then you should give this one a shot.

I can't wait to go back
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/11/07
The Palace was the most beautiful place I have ever seen. I would like to back to see the Palace in 2008. I was diappointed that I was unable to use my camcorder to video the Palace so I could show my husband and friends how beautiful it is.

This is the most beautiful Victorian mansion we have ever seen. The woodwork is just exquisite, and the furnishings top off the whole experience. The tour guides were very informative. Can't wait to see it again!

a must see
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/26/07
We love looking through old historical homes. This one was fabulous. Extremely beautiful inside, and the guides were all very knowledgeable. You are able to tour the main floor and the 2nd floor, but not the 3rd or basement. Still very much worth the admission fee. 11 yo. son even thought it was worth visiting.
