I was told about the Railroad Cafe but not given directions. We spotted the small aign from 59 and glad we did. Great food & dining experience. I will try and make it back while traveling through Houston. Great staff. Very comfortable.

Mmmm... Love those Cannolis!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/24/07
The Railroad Cafe is a bit out of the way for this resident of Montrose, but it came highly recommended, so my boyfriend and I made the drive out to Humble. We were not disappointed.
The service was excellent; the waitress (the owners’ daughter) was very helpful when I asked what she recommended. I began with the stuffed artichoke, well ...

A Terrific Experience
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 06/29/07
I recently had dinner here with friends and we filled about half the restaurant. The staff made us feel like one of the family, and were very helpful with the menu selections. The service was attentive, but patient. I never felt rushed. The original artwork is beautiful, and the owner graciously came to the table for a brief visit. The food was ...

part of the charm of the Railroad Cafe is that it is an old jail. What I look for in fine dining is a clean resturant withgreat food and excellant service.I get all three here.I do not rate resturants on the bread and oil.

1st time & last time as well!!

We went there because we read the reviews. Here's my experience on Feb 07: First - Food, charge $3 for little bowl of olive oil with chopped garlic & pepper seed in it. Bread was cold just like 2 days old from Kroger. Pasta was undercooked - charged over $20. Interior - It's a small restaurant only has 10 small tables. The light was ...

A little disappointing.
By JoeQ, 02/22/07
We went to the Railroad Cafe on a recomendation of a friend. The dinning area is small and dark, with interesting appointments. Due to it's size, it is very loud, and you are distracted by all the conversations going on just several feet from you. The bread seemed store bought, and they charge extra for the oil. The ceasar salad was the best I ...

Must go!!!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 12/26/05
First and foremost the food is great. Not the typical watered down italian experience you get at most restaraunts. The service is perfect and the host are helpful and offer many great suggestions when prompted. It is a pricier menu $20-$30/person but great food is not cheap. The restaraunt is small quiet and intimate, maybe 10 tables. The chef will also most likely visit your table. A must go!! Tiramasu is to die for.Ki

Disappointed
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 06/01/05
The staff was extremely accommodating since, contrary to information on their website and menu, they are not open for lunch. They were, however, hosting a private luncheon that day, and since we had traveled 45 miles to have lunch there, went out of their way to set us up in a private little back room where the two of us could have lunch. That ...
