Very cool and interesting. It would be a fun place to take a group of people, but also a nice place for a small group. I took some out of town relatives and they loved the local art section. Closes early so start in the morning.
Everyone who visits or lives in Dallas should visit the DMA at least once. It has quite a collection and you can spend the greater part of the day wandering the halls.
There is an admission fee (it used to be free) but it's still worth it. The only negative thing I could say about this museum is what I call the DMA goons. Yes, the people in ...

A diamond in the Dallas rough
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 09/27/05
With its central location, wide variety of exhibits, and beautiful atmosphere the Dallas Museum of Art is a must see for visitors and locals alike. The thing that sets this above the other museums in Dallas is the wonderful variety of special events. In the last year they hosted Salman Rushdie, Augusten Burroughs, and Sue Monk Kidd among others. ...

Best escape from the heat!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 09/26/05
Thursday- free general admission w/ jazz music. It has a lovely cafe and gift shop other than exhibits. Club this with other art district attractions, ride the free trolley from there to uptown for dinner, and you have the perfect date.
The place is romantic, educational, and very, very relaxing. The experience was wonderful, the place is full of history from world wide. The most amazing thing that call on to my attention was the garden. It's beautiful! My boyfreind and I can't wait to back!
I loved the fact that my whole family found something they liked at the DMA. We weren't members until this year but we'd always found a reason to visit every month or so. We visited lots this summer because it was a place we knew would have a nice, cool atmosphere to avoid the heat outside. I found that now they have late Nights once a ...
Took our son their this summer, although the life size statue, art outside were marvalous, the price was not worth it. Too hot in the summer. Parking was not great, but would be great for a day in downtown, with drinks to follow.
I enjoyed the DMA's exhibit EAST MEETS WEST. The intersections of East and West, and reciprocal influences of Eastern and Western cultures upon each other, have long been interests of mine. I was pleased to see a world class exhibit with these themes as its focus. This exhibit shows the quality that over the years I have come to expect from ...

Great place to spend a rainy afternoon!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 09/22/05
I recently visited the Dallas Museum of Art to see a special exhibit on China. The exhibit was fascinating and well worth the price of admission. The museum is HUGE and the admission costs are low. Well worth the trip. Parking was available. To get to the museum was a little difficult, the signs are not as helpful as they could be. We did go ...
