We are in Dallas due to Hurricane Ike. We were very impressed with the quality of exhibits. The monorail was very nice. People were friendly and prices were reasonable. I'd recommend this zoo.

The Dallas Zoo does not adequately care for its animals. Jenny, the elephant, is in particular distress and for reasons unknown, the zoo refuses to move her to The Elephant Sanctuary in Tennessee, where she could be rehabilitated. http://www.concernedcitizensforjenny.net/

I have been to the Dallas Zoo several times simply because it was closer to Plano than Ft. Worth. I can tell you that after my last trip I will never go again. Yes i see the Dallas Zoo making improvements, but bringing new animals when they cant take care of the ones present just doesn't make since. It's exciting to see all the improvements going into the Dallas Zoo. The Chimpanzee habitat and the Tiger habitat are my two favorite exhibits.

I have lived in Dallas my whole life and the Dallas Zoo has never been our best attraction. The Dallas World Aqaurium is where you want to go. The Fort Worth Zoo is much better if you are in the area.

Yes the zoo is a little old but they have had MANY updates and additions! Such as a wonderful inactive bird experience. You can feed several different types of birds, not just one kind like many other zoos!
