We're planning to go this first week of August..actually the 5th, my husband's birthday. Maybe then we invite 4 friends who have not been there ever since. I'm sure they would love it there...just seeing the colors and ambiance as much as I did. But one thing that keeps us from pushing through with the plan, is the $8.00 fee and still ...
It was nice. It is best in the spring and summer I guess but there was a nutcracker theme in the de golyer house when we went. There were free tours and lots of gardens . Even a child-friendly section with information on the history of texas.

Loved the serenity and peace, yet divine beauty!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 05/07/08
I loved the whole thing, but my favorite parts were the Coy ponds, the fountain frogs, the eternity pool, and the tree houses (especialy the butterfly one). I loved how peaceful it was, with the birds and the flowers, and all the life mixed together.

A wonderful retreat form the city
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 02/12/08
The Dallas Arboretum is a lovely place to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city...and it's right in the middle of the city!! Only an $8 admission and $5 for parking, it's really quite a steal compared to other major privately owned gardens. It has an excellent research program and offers classes for children and adults. It is a ...
A great place to go to get some color during the blooming season. Also very awesome for photographers of all calibers. Very nice architecture and a pleasant walk. Great during the cooler months.

Beautiful gardens well cared for
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/01/07
Beauty abounds here. The floral displays are carefully arranged. This is a safe place to enjoy nature. More places to eat and rest are needed.
Our trip to the arboretum was very delightful. It is a family place as well as a place for serenity and peace. The fragrant blossoms, the peaceful sound of the waterfalls and the laughter of children made my day very delightful. I plan to go back in the spring time when the new flowers are in bloom and mother nature has offered a new display of color.

Hours of admission need improvement
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/21/07
I have had membership for a few years, and this is obviously a wonderful place. There are a few cons, though:
The hours of admission (9 am - 5 pm) are far too restrictive. In the summer heat, it would be so nice to go there at 8 or even 7 am. And in the evening, it would be equally nice to be there after 5. I assume they rent the place for ...
As an artist the beauty of nature is very inspiring. The arboretum is located in my neighborhood and provides that wonderful feeling of awe and peace that is so important to me.
