Go to enjoy a pretty park and take pictures. Do not go if you want to learn anything or have your children learn about plants or what grows in Dallas Do not expect to have a lovely lunch since the "cafe" is so dissappointing, Do not go if paying so much in parking on top of high entrance fees troubles you just to see a pretty park and ...
Incredibly peaceful and beautiful. Wonderful place for an outing and fun day with family and friends. On one visit my son pushed the wheelchair so that my mother could enjoy the beauty of the place. She especially loved seeing the May Day Pole Dance.
My 2 year old son loves going to the Arboretum, we go once a week just me and him and spend a few hrs there! and for the rest of the week all he talks about is what he saw and did! My mom got me the membership last year for my birthday and she did the same this year! he loves the Koi Fish and all the pretty flowers! the only bad thing about it is ...

Take your kids

The grounds are beautiful for parents to look at and there are several areas for kids to play in. From a giant terra cotta pot wrapped around a tree, to a fountain that the kids can splash in play in - I highly recommend you go.

BORING
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 12/18/06
I HAVE HEARD SO MANY WONDERFUL THINGS ABOUT THIS PLACE. MY FAMILY FOUND IT TO BE VERY BORING WITH NOTHING MUCH TO DO. THIS PLACE SEEMED LIKE NOTHING MORE THAN A LARGE PARK.
It is so beautiful there, flowers, trees, big lake and funtains...and butterflies!!
I went there with my 19 month daughter, and she enjoyed there, too.
The only thing that I think a little inconvenient is the parking. The day we went is the pumpkin day, so there are lots people there and there wasn't enough spaces. we had to park at a ...

We want to come back soon!!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/12/06
There really wasn't much that we disliked about it, except for maybe when we first decided to come it was just too hot. Oh well, not much you can do about that when someone chooses to come in the beginning of summer.
This is such a nice place to just get away from it all and enjoy nature. Their best annual event is the Dallas Blooms which features Millions of Tulips in early Spring.
You have to go at Christmas time. The Dallas Arboretum is a wonderful place to go anytime of the year, but during Christmas, it is magical. The lights, the live rein deer, the trees .... Everything is wonderful. My kids had a blast. The inside of the DeGoyer Estate is decorated so beautifully. You have to go!
Beautifully laid out, you almost forget that you are right next to all the hubbub of Big D. A great place to spend an afternoon wondering the gardens with a good friend, or just taking time out of your busy day to sit by a fountain and reflect on the meaning of life, etc.
