The Connemara Conservancy has been closed for several years except for occasional guided nature walks. I don't understand why they can't allow a maximum number of individual visitors per day for those of us who would enjoy a solitary visit, as other highly fragile sites have done.

As things stand now, they've "conserved" the land in a way that guarantees dwindling interest in its long-term survival.

The Connemara Nature Conservancy preserved this area because prairies are wonderful places for bird and reptile watching. I LOVE taking my family and my two dogs here on the weekend. You feel like you're in the country, without driving far! So peaceful. I go here to clear my mind. My dogs get to run and feel "wild." It's free, I took my parents for Mother's Day, and they love it!
