A must see in AustinThe capitol is merges historic and contemporay interest into on sight. An excellect place to go alone, with others, or even bring the family. The capitol is surrounded by a beautiful park with huge shade trees.

A very impressive site!Parking around this capitol is challenging but the actual place is super. It commands respect from the moment you walk in. I espeecially like all the portraits of past governors.
The substances used on the floors and walls are wonderful, all shining and clean despite all the traffic. Might it be marble, anyway it is lovely.

CoolThe Texas Austin State Capitol was cool, and awesome. Atmosphere? Everybody was enjoying theirselves, but our tour guide didn't really do that excellent of a job, but oh well. What I liked was that I felt very important being inside there, and it feels sort of weird to know that famous people have been where I was, like George W. Bush. History is great !This capitol is just beautiful. Went there last year, didn't even need to take a tour just walked around and it was great. I ended up arriving at the end of the day so most offices were closed already but then there was no crowds! I would have thought being there in 2003 the security would have been increased alittle but seemed not to be. Plan on going there again this week !
