I like the manmade pool in Balmorhea and this reminds me of that great water and friendly atmosphere. I love the facilities, the grassy area, and most of all, the people. It is by far my favorite swimming hole in all of Austin.

Though threatened by upstream development, Barton Springs and the pool that surrounds them are irreplaceable treasures. Enjoy them while you can, tell your kids about the freezing (68 degree) water, fish swimming in the deep end, occasional topless bather, celebration of life that is Barton Springs Pool!

Seriously, if you live in Austin and haven't been here, you might as well live in Round Rock, Dallas, or Houston....

Great place to go swim specially in hot summer days, the water temperature is just perfect and the. Great place to hang out and chill out and meet friendly people.

When the Texas sun is beating down on you like a Bi-polar police officer you need a place to cool down. Barton Springs is like no other. It can be a hundred and six outside and the cool clear spring water will have a frosty chill. What a combo. It is cheap and relaxing. Clean and friendly. So unless you want to wave the Johnson out at Hippy Hollow this is the place cool off and take a dip.

Great place to be when it's blistering hot outside. You can relax and tan all day long. When you get hot, you can jump in to the cold natural spring-fed pool.

The downside is you can't bring in outside food to snack on.

I loved this pool. Its so nice to just be able to relax, even in a crowded place. Everybody who goes there is looking for a good time, and never leave without some kind of great memory. I reccommend this place to adults looking for a place to relax and cool off, or a family of 10 looking for something fun and inexpensive to do on a weekend. Five thumbs up!!!!

Barton Springs defines austin as a nature loving paradise. Centrally located and reasonably priced, cool off during Austin's hot summer with cool waters. You may spy a naked girl or two, too! (topless permitted at the pool)
