Talk about a wonderful place. Relaxing and Refreshing. Just too many people, but a great place to strike up a conversation. Just wish I could take my dog there. Oh well - Still beautiful!!!!!
Just another Austin essential. Take the time and "chill" literally at Barton Springs. It is quintessential Austin, and a must see part of your time there.
love it! its outdoors ,you may see a few topless women or some men that shouldnt be in speedos but its fun and the water is cold and refreshing!

The place is beautiful but DO NOT TAKE YOUR KIDS!!! There are a lot of trashy, naked people running around. I would love to visit the place with everyone FULLY CLOTHED. I, personally, will NOT go back. I do NOT care to see NUDE people. If I want to see someone naked I will ask my husband to take off his clothes, lol. Beautiful place but would ...

An oasis in the city!

It's such a nice, clean place. It's wonderful to swim in the natural water. Nudity is not allowed, but the Pool IS thong-friendly and topfree (topless is allowed). So, drop your burden at the gate and take a refreshing dip.

Besides Barton Springs Austin Would just be known for being a lousy capitol with all there is to look at I had a Cousin that came out of this country and this was her favorite part of the trip.
I remeber it behind nice and cold. Well we went there 5-20-06 and it was nasty. There was so much alge floating on the top of the water, that you didn't have to think about being cold just don;t let that stuff get on me is what I was thinking. I mean it looked like there was vomit or some had pooped in the water. That is how gross the algea ...

A true natural treasure
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 05/24/06
Got the chance to check out the Barton Springs Pool in Austin last weekend and I loved it. The cold water was great for floating in like a lazy hippo while the sun shined down from above. The water is so clean for a "natural" pool and I loved the change from antiseptic chlorine pools. Tons of hot people showing off skin and kewl ...

my family and i went not knowing they let people swim in the nude. NOT FAMILY FRIENDY
But do get me wrong it is a very nice place green grass lots of tree and the water is clear.
Located very close to downtown, I was lucky enough to get a tour with the staff that run it.
What a great place to go. If you like to swim in a natural environment, don't miss this. Great setting. Loved the surrounding park and proximity to downtown.
Another Austin Pool to check out is Deep Eddy Pool. A spring fed outdoor facility. The bathhouse is under renovation, what a great historical place to go.
