I loved this zoo. The animals were well cared for and the park was clean. We took our own lunch and had a picnic. The playground was AMAZING and my two year old loved the carousel. We will go again if we are ever in Nashville
I loved how there were things for people of all ages. Just be prepared to wear walking shoes. They really isnt an easy way to get to each spot without walking and sometimes walking up a hill. In the summertime bring lots of water, especially for little ones, there isnt much shade. There is a house on the grounds is the origonal owners of the ...

A good zoo to visit
By Heather M, 04/16/08
The Nashville Zoo is a nice little zoo. It is currently undergoing expansion, so in the next few years, it won't be a little zoo anymore. It seems that, though the zoo itself is on the small side right now, they have given great thought to and put a lot of money into the animal exhibits. The exhibits are spatious and beautifully landscaped ...
Nashville is blessed with great and growing Zoo. It is very manageable, walkable, educational and fun. Our family's favorite portion is the Bamboo Forest, which has an amazing atmosphere and some wonderful species. The Meerkats are a lot of fun to watch as well (Timon from the Lion King). If you have younger kids, don't miss the ...

Total disappointment!
By A Yahoo! Contributer, 01/16/08
I've been to a handful of zoos before, and the Nashville Zoo has disappointed me the most. I read the other comments on here before I left to visit the zoo and I should have listened, stayed home and saved my money. Nashville is such a booming town, and to have a zoo like this is pitiful. I don't see how they can charge $13 per person... ...

Horrible!
By A Yahoo! Contributer, 06/18/07
The only good thing about these Nashville Zoo at Grassmere is the playground- which you're better off going to Two Rivers park near the wave country anyway. There aren't even any animals except for the occasional bird!

Not what I expected
By A Yahoo! Contributer, 06/02/07
This zoo is spread out, but has very few large animals. There are no apes, gorillas, rhinos, lions, polar bears, bears, etc.
Very few animals and large in price. With a discount and a family of 4, I still spent $70, without eating there.
The zoos in Fort Worth and Dallas were much better.

Nice zoo, but not fantastic
By Lady Bug Pink, 03/22/07
Really like that the animals have SO much room - but be prepared to do a LOT of walking. My favorite part of this zoo is Grassmere itself. Make sure you tour the home and grounds around it. Very beautiful in the Fall.

great little zoo
By A Yahoo! Contributer, 11/26/06
This zoo is not the biggest one in the world, but it is growing and improving. The thing that separates the nashville zoo from others is that the animals are happy. they are not in cages, they are housed in natural looking exhibits. They have elephants, red pandas, clouded lepards, cougars, and much more. They are growing faster than any zoo I have ever ...

Noise Level
By A Yahoo! Contributer, 10/10/06
The zoo habitat and animals are great.I know that noise is expected and children do get excited, but the useless screaming is hardly needed to enjoy yourself. Very little parental supervision
