Enjoyed the cool scale model of the river. The atmosphere was friendly and welcoming, and the grounds were clean and well kept. Even getting there and back, riding the sky tram, was unique. The kids enjoyed splashing in the water. Would love to go back some day.
It was great just to walk through the and enjoy. My 3 year old made a day of it, going downtown & then over to Mud Island. Very relaxing. Nice background music, not very intruding. We had a blast, splashing in the water. And then they have the paddle boats!! Great for low budget day out!!!

Lots of fun and affordable. Mud Island is not far from home so I could go for a weekend. Plenty to do and not enough time to do it all.I would tell anyone to go and I'm going back real soon.

The museum is within walking distance of Beale or Union. It's a great way to learn about the history of Memphis at its surrounding areas. There is an huge outdoor replica of the Mississippi River and its tributaries, and an indoor replica of a steam boat. You can also see displays of Native American artifacts and Civil War relics. There are ...

Loved it!!

I will never forget this place! i was a teenager when we went and it still feels like yesterday. i loved the miniature "river" that you could wade through. hope to go back someday.
I like this place. It is not that expensive, and depending where you live it is free. It is a great place to bring you children, however sometimes thit may not interest them because it is mainly telling about the history of the Mississippi river! Mud island has boats and a good place to sit in the sun and eat. If you child does not seem interested then tell them that they ride on a tran over the Mississippi river to get to the island.

Wasn't really sure what Mud Island Park had to offer, but decided to gamble and give it a try. Very glad I did! The monorail ride out was smooth and offers great views of the river and city skyline. The museum was quite informative and had a lot more to offer than I anticipated. Highlights include indoor mockups of a steamboat and Union ...

Lots to explore for our 3 year old.

My family and I enjoyed walking up and down the "river-like" walkway and stopped at one of the many tables and benches to eat our packed sandwiches. It takes some maneuvering with a stroller however, but can be done. We wanted to do the pedal boats but were told by a someone working the snack shop that due to a shortage of workers they ...
