There was never a long wait. Ribs, to Catfish to even tamales, everybody got something. and the Slough szlough sauce on the side was the best. Can't wait to come back Love Eileen
Me and a friend was here just last weekend, and now we have added it to our road trip in December. The atmosphere was fun and the food was delicious. I had the seafood gumbo, it was good. I also had the cajun shrimp the texas toast was awesome. My friend had the fried shrimp platter and said it was good also. FUn place and you feel like anyone could walk in. If you are in Memphis you must go...

Fast food a bit too Fast
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/24/07
The service was fast a little too fast which meant the ribs and the rest of the meal were pre cooked . The ribs tasted fine but not a patch on Corky's or even BB King's.the music was great , but the toilets had not been cleaned at all that day --- put me off !

This place is a joke - only popular because it is on Beale St.
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 05/31/07
For some reason it seems all the restaurants on Beale St. decided that quality food is unimportant as long as there are lots of unsuspecting tourists and drunk people keeping them busy. Blues City is no exception. It is a dirty dirty place that smells like pinesol/BBQ/urine. I currently live in memphis and I am baffled by this restaurants ...

Gotta have the Ribs
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 12/31/06
I really enjoyed their ribs! Its a mom and pop lil restaurant that looks very southern. If you ask anyone where to go for traditional memphis food they will tell you about this place and to get the ribs! The restaurant workers will try and convince you that the ribs are the best in the country, and once you try them you will agree!

The Best !!!!
By Troy M, 08/17/06
This is the by far the best place to eat on Beale St. The atmosphere is cool, funky, with a great mix of people and some great blues and soul playin' in the background. More importantly, the food is to die for. Everything i've ever had there has been outstanding. True soul food/BBQ. The stuffed mushrooms, gumbo, ribs were all incredible. We ...

Best location in Memphis
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/16/06
Great location on Beale! The food (especially the ribs and baked beans) is the best we found in Memphis, and I think we tried most of the rib joints.

Great ribs
By Joey M, 07/19/06
This is the place for ribs in Memphis. I've had Rendezvous and Corky's ribs, but they dont touch Blues City. The meat falls off the bone with a perfect blend of spices and sauce. The half rack is the size of Rendezvous' full rack, so a full rack could feed two people. Service was also great.

It's All About the Ribs!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/16/05
You haven't experienced Memphis until you have eaten at the Blues City Cafe'. The food is fantastic, and you can't beat their ribs. The staff and service is excellent even when the place is packed. It was the highlight of our trip.
