Of all the things we saw this past weekend during our trip to Huntington Beach, I would like to highlight the best points...Alligators crossing the road on the causeway! I have a few GREAT, unbelievable pictures of that!. Seeing the luminescent sand at night on the beautiful, natural beaches (the trials to the beach were lovely, too!), the ...
We camped at Huntington Beach State Park for the first time this summer. What a wonderful place! The beach is beautiful and almost deserted if you head north. We enjoyed the bike trails and tours of Atalaya, too. In fact we enjoyed those 3 things so much, we never got to Brookgreen Gardens or the Education Center. I will agree that the walk to ...

Great beach!
By A Yahoo! Contributer, 07/02/07
We visited this weekend, I was surprized at how much beach there was, & how clean the place was, especially for the weekend before 4th July when most beaches are overcrowded! I noticed in a few other reviews ppl complining about the animals & snakes, but it is a state park, we were disappointed we didn't see MORE animals! :) I ...

Beauty with the Bugs

The beaches are gorgeous and pristine with a wonderful walk to a jetty. There is a lot to do at the park and it is well-maintained. Our biggest problem was the unbelievable amount of mosquitoes!! We tried 3 different repellents and still were eaten from head to toe. And we had to keep all food and water locked in our car because raccoons would ...

Great Natural Campground/beach
By A Yahoo! Contributer, 11/01/06
I have been to Huntington many times. It is a great place to go camping if you do not want to forsake some of the comforts of home but want to enjoy nature. It is located just below Murrells Inlet which provides you with great restaurants, and fishing opportunities. The beach at Huntington is about 2.5 miles and totally undeveloped. It also is ...

Wonderful destination.
By paddletoburton, 10/11/06
This is one of the best state parks I've been to. The camp sites are very nice and many are very private. Everything is clean and the trash and recycles are in one central location so there are no animal issues or smell. The nature center is wonderful, and they have awesome programs for the entire family. The beach its self is also terrific ...

One a year

My family and I go to SC every year. We stay for two weeks and enjoy the nature and friendly enviorment. We meet up with friends that also come back every year. The campsites are very nice and the bugs arn't to bad. Their are animals everywhere, some people do not like this but I do not mind, I enjoy watching the wildlife. Their are many things that you can do while staying their and its beach is not crowded.
