If you are somewhat pressed for time and don't have a few days this is a great way to see the area. Strongly recommend taking the carriage tour, and you can ask questions during the tour.

Classic Carriage Tours - Good Guide, Awful Customer Service
By A Yahoo! Contributer, 12/04/07
We started by purchasing tickets from one of the curb side dealers. We purchased the tickets for $20 per person. We asked about pricing on the night private ride and the merchant stated that it was $100 but the tour did not go through residential at night. We thought it sounded good. He stated that it would have to purchased through a lady near ...

it was awesome because they were so nice to us and we were just enjoying our selvs and talking. I could not have had a better time than this!!!!!!!!!!!
This was a great tour! We were with another couple and we drew the #1 route which hit the waterfront along with the historic homes and sites. We all agreed that our guide was fantastic - full of information and humor that was genuine, not canned and the horse (Hero) was amazing. I can't imagine a tour through any part of this beautiful city being anything other than satisfying with people like this to escort you.

Wonderful first-day experience
By A Yahoo! Contributer, 10/04/07
We had an awesome guide on the carriage tour. She was awesome at telling the stories of Charleston's past. She answered all of our questions and let me film the entire hour-long private tour with my camcorder, which was an added bonus. The price is reasonable $90.00 for two people if you book online prior to your trip out there.

You must take a carriage tour.
By A Yahoo! Contributer, 09/24/07
This is, by far, the best way to begin your stay in Charleston. We have done them over the years and have never been disappointed. You learn so much about the city and its colorful history. Most drivers have great knowledge of the area. We all have our favorites but all the tours are good, no matter which part of the city you see. It is true ...

Great Time
By A Yahoo! Contributer, 07/20/07
My friend and I were visiting Charleston as a side trip and had less than two days to explore. I recommend that visitors take this tour as the very first thing they do in Charleston. We were able to get a great tour of the city and our guide pointed out several points of interest that we did not know about from the brochures and guidebooks. He told ...

touring Charleston
By A Yahoo! Contributer, 06/15/07
The carriage tour is a must. If you make it the first thing you do when you get there, you will have a good overview to plan the rest of your vacation and to better know your way around. We really loved it. The carriage tours are well worth the money and the time.
Our tour guide was just great and so full of detailed information.
I highly recommend them.

Classic Carriage Tours

The carriage tours are great. There is a lot of walking required to see Charleston. It is nice to be able to sit for an hour and listen to the guide while seeing the beautiful historic area. We have been going at least once a year for 6 years. If my family wasn't in Ohio I would be living in Charleston.

The experience was great. Saw a lot of old Charleston and was very relaxing. Well worth the price. Went in zone 1 and was educational as well.
