Great staff too. The porch is shady in the summer but cold in the fall. They recetnly put in wifi which is great but I cant always get on.

The Coffee Exchange is off the beaten path so there is not alot of traffic.

The service is great, the coffee is exceptional and there is a deck to sit on for the warmer days. The espresso is out of this world.

There is also a variety of restaurants in the immediate vicinity from Thai to Sushi to sandwiches.

This definitely my favorite place to go in the city.

I have been a fan of this place for years. I live in CT near New Haven, so I am not there too often. But when I can I stop by. I like the friendly, intellectual, socialy conscious, tolerant, homey atmosphere of the place. The coffee is out of this world. The staff is helpful.

I was there recently, and though the staff is very nice and enjoyable, I witnessed the owner of coffee exchange berate an employee and treat her with complete disrespect about the food in a pastry case.

I cannot support a business owner who is so nasty to his staff.

I stop by Coffee Exchange almost daily in the morning on my way to work on College Hill. The coffee is superb-fresh, smells wonderful. The people are nice and friendly. Lots of college students trying to finish their work their. The only drawback is that the space is too small, it's difficult to find a seat in the morning.

Love to hang out there and get some work done at coffee exchange...Its got a vibrant atmoshere and beats doing work at home.. The only complaint I have is that it doesnt really have wifi service. There are some unsecured networks in the neighborhood but those signals are so unreliable I don't even bother trying to connect to them anymore.
