i used to work here, but it was always my favorite place in the city - you can escape here and not feel like you are in a city yet there is still plenty of civilization around the corner.
No first timer to Philadelphia can say they've seen Philly without a visit to the craddle of democracy at Independence Hall. Awe inspiring. With tightened security, access isn't as convenient as it used to be but it is no less impressive. If possible, try to avoid weekend crowds which can result in long lines.
The Independence Hall brings you back to the time our nation was still being formed. When the great men during those days where forming the laws that wouldguide and shapeour nations future. I highly recommend for everyone to see this place.

Experience History
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 09/26/05
To be in the building where our nation was born is just awe-inspiring. You get a real sense of History here, especially inside. Informative talk given by park rangers. The building was featured in the movie "National Treasure". Great to visit when your kids are studying American History. Not particularly interesting to pre-schoolers ...
If you love history and how this country was founded then this is where you want to go. Walking though Independence Hall is an amazing feeling. You step in and know that over two hundred years ago this was the center of creating America. It is free so of course it is worth the price of admission. The only thing that was a problem was waiting in ...

The guides are knowledgeable about the era. It is free, but you have to get a ticket from the visitor's center on 6th street. Go early to get the tickets, to make sure you get one, ...

I perfect minty treat of colonial history. I literally wanted to eat the wooden framework of the building. What? You mean thats not normal?
This is an excellent tour of one of the most famous buildings in history. You learn all about the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution. It is free, but you will want to get tickets early to ensure that you will get to take the tour. The liberty bell is right next door and you must pass by it once through security, so you definitely take ...
