  • Once in a life time experience
    By Ton, 04/13/06
Like the title states, this is once in a life time thing for me. There is a lot of history behind the bell - we all know it. What annoys me most is the security guards. Not just one or two of them, but a bunch of them. I just wanted to see the bell for a few seconds and probably took a few pics of that and it took me more than ten mins to get ...

  • If you're in Philly......why not?
    By A Yahoo! Contributor, 03/31/06
The Liberty Bell is a national treasure and everyone should see it. However, it can get really crowded in the afternoon so my advice is go early.

  • Our freedom continues on...
    By A Yahoo! Contributor, 03/28/06
Seeing the Liberty Bell should make people grateful for the sacrifices made by our founding fathers so that we could enjoy all that we do today. I feel that seeing the Liberty Bell evokes a sense of patriotism like nothing else can. The only negative feeling I had while visiting was the irony of the situation that the bell that told the world of ...

  • Very Interesting
    By A Yahoo! Contributor, 01/18/06
I'm Canadian and this whole city was just awesome - a completely different feel and atmosphere than any Canadian cities. The importance and the significance of the Bell comes across as almost sacred and to actually see the real thing is really cool - I definitely recommend going.

  • Hope you like big crowds.
    By A Yahoo! Contributor, 01/18/06
Long lines to get in. Plus security is so tight. Who is going to blow up an old bell, why not something major. My disabled mother wsa forced to get out of her wheelchair. She had to prove she was disabled. You could tell by looking at her. So when she fell, they finally believed her. The view of Independence hall is great. But trying to get a pic of the bell, there is just to many people.

  • Loved the Liberty Bell
    By Tigger, 01/16/06
I loved this monument, we were of the last few to be able to touch the "Bell" before it was encased. The liberty Bell is a sign of strength and I would encourage anyone to go see it and hear the history of it. It is amazing how inacurate the history books are when it comes to things like this. Take a tour of Independence Hall and listen ...

  • So Much History.....
    By A Yahoo! Contributor, 12/08/05
Security is tighter, but we live in a different world than 20 years ago, so you get over it and move on. Personally, I'd rather have our artifacts protected! The value can't be beat, like much of the gorgeous history around Philadelphia. Definitely do not miss this one!

  • Go, but dont expect too much..
    By AliciaD, 11/26/05
The security is tight(about the same as an airport) which is understandable and then theres a bunch of artifacts with little descriptions and facts relating to the bell before you actually get to it. I mean its one of those things you have to see in your lifetime, whether you are american or not. I did get a really cute picture and now I can tell people I went. Just when you go dont expect too much or you may be let down.
