Nice area, but feels like more swamp than parkI liked the area around the lake and the flora and fauna, but I didn't like the swamp gas and some of the environmental issues that seemed to abound here.OVERALLAtmosphere

A Beautiful and Precious PlaceI love this place and highly recommend it. It is worth the drive and it's free.
It is hard to imagine but almost all of Philadelphia looked like this, before the European Colonization. Nice, but with too much urban noise and litter.The John Heinz Wildlife Refuge at Tinicum is a nice and quick getaway for the city dweller and the Cusano Center is very nice with it's interactive and educational displays. There are lots of activites to enjoy, such as fishing, biking, etc. Wildlife, such as turtles, rabbits, groundhogs and deer are plentiful in the park.
