I attended the Unity Day celebration on August 23rd. I must say it was nothing like the Unity Days in times past. It was just a gathering of fast foods and some local venues and mostly radio public relations.
In my opinion, Penn's Landing is losing its glamour from when it first opened. The maintenance is less than adequate. There are ...

Dirty nasty place
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 05/26/08
Penn's landing was such a dirty nasty place that I'd rather spend my time picking up litter in a dump. I and my family saw trash floating on all levels of the river and the stench coming from either the river or the surroundings was unbearable. One only needs to go into Camden to find a more horrid place although it does not quite make us feel any better at either place know this was the birth place of our nation.

Excellent Place!!!

Penns Landing is one of the places left in this world where you can take your family, learn a lot about history, and not spend loads of money. They have a submarine, a ferry, a ship, and much outdoor information and free programs. Take your kids and enjoy history at the right price.
I enjoyed Penn's Landing for the atmosphere, the Duck boats, and the ability to park right near the river. The cost of parking was a little high, but if you wanted center city, you could easily walk in from the parking deck into whatever you wanted to see.

Awesome to see
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 05/06/07
Our family enjoyed the view from Penn's Landing watching the boats pass by, the incredible Ben Franklin bridge, the other toursit. It was a fun filled afternoon. The only draw back would be the $15.00 charge to park there. I thought that was a bit pricy.

Penns Landing Dissapointment
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 04/29/07
It is a shame that Philadelphia does not do more with the Delaware river waterfront. Penns Landing was dirty, filthy would be more appropriate with debris and trash everywhere, including the river. This is the same at the Philadelphia Museum of Art. Parking is expensive starting at 10 bucks for a half hour, and 9 buckes to walk on the submarine. ...

Great view of the Delaware River
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 06/05/06
Penn's Landing provides visitors with a great view of the Delaware River, the Benjamin Franklin suspension bridge and New Jersey on the other side of the river. The Independence Seaport Museum is worth a visit while you are there, as admission includes the USS Olympia and the submarine USS Becuna. The USS Becuna gave me an insightful glimpse ...
A great place for a view of the Delaware River while taking a afternoon walk. You can visit Penn's Landing for free. You can also stop by and eat at one of the many restaurants. In winter, you can go to the ice skating rink. In summer, you can take the ferry from Penn's Landing to Camden to see such attractions as the Adventure Aquarium. ...
