We visited the Fort of San Cristobal in August of 2007. It was a wonderful experience. The view from the top of the fort is gorgeous. We visited in August, so it was very hot outside and also inside some parts of the fort, which made it uncomfortable to view the inside rooms. However, overall it was a great experience, and we enjoyed visiting a historical landmark and learning about its history.

I like everything about this magnificent fort. I think that the people of Puerto Rico should be proud about this heritage that they have. It's a rich history, that cast a spell in all turist.

Great price, very friendly staff. Only $3 per person to see one fort, $5 to see both. Self guided. Bring a camera! Gorgeous views of the blue ocean and Old San Juan. The girl at the desk also was very helpful in giving advice/directions to places.

I want to share this experience
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 12/12/07
San Cristbal is a fascinating experience. Two years ago I went on a cruise that finished in San Juan. Our flight was not until the late afternoon and the royal Caribbean offered several walking tours, I am disabled and picked the least strenuous. When you first walk into the the fort you can feel the over powering feeling of age and permenence. ...
San Cristobal is as lovely as its sister, El Morro. They both share a wall that once surrounded the city. There are a few things to see in this fortress that were not seen in El Morro. The view from the top is different and the structures are different as well. I suggest you get the package deal when paying admission - which isn't much - to see both fortresses. You won't regret it!

It was so full of history and being Puerto Rican, it was nice to learn a bit about our history.
I had a lot of fun but you may want to rethink a stroller. There are a lot of steep hills and it is very hot. You'll be doing a lot of walking. Bring a small cooler with water if you can cause the water is expensive, but cold.
The view is ...

We are going back!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 12/16/05
My husband and I visited here a few years ago as a stop on our cruise. We loved it so much that when we decided to take a cruise in Jan 2006 with our kids that we picked one with San Juan as a stop so we could go back. We thought that the kids would just love this, however we noticed after we booked our trip that they close at 5PM and that is the ...
I will say about this what I said about El Morro....Great history lesson. Only 5 bucks to get into this and El Morro. My son got his booklet about the fort and went exploring! It is beautiful at night...i took the best pictures there at night.

it was a mind trip!!!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 03/30/05
I loved fort san cristobal. it was one of the most interesting things to witness upclose. The sheer size of the walls and the beauty of the ancient engineering was great. i still can't believe they could build something so perfect and large in the 1500's. It is a masterpiece of engineering even by today's standards!! You have got to go in the dungeon and feel the spirits of the past go through you. It is a must see!!!!!!!
