We love to see the Tree and watch the Ice Skaters. Rockefeller Center is a winter wonderland, a exciting place to visit anytime of the year, but especially at Christmas.

I've been to the observation decks at Empire State Building and Top of the Rock (both twice) and I will honestly tell you that if you only have time to do one, go to the Top of the Rock. Same price, better experience. The elevator ride is awesome and the views are fantastic! There are 3 levels at Top of the Rock (only 1 at ESB) and the ...

Loved the Center. NBC tour was the best part of our trip to NYC. The Center is clean and in the heart of all of the shopping.
The TODAY shows tapes live during the week and is a fun way to see the show live.

Pride of the Big Apple
By chua_herbert, 07/20/06
Elegantly decorated during the Christmas season, the best time to visit the Rockefeller Center is undoubtedly in December. The main draws are the big Christmas tree and ice-skating rink, which makes for a wonderful photo opportunity. However, the ever-present crowd can be a deterrent for the perfect photograph. You can also catch NBC's Today show being taped live in the morning, or go to the Top of the Rock for a view of the Big Apple.

Top of the rock
By A Yahoo! Contributer, 07/02/06
I recommend going to the top of the rock as opposed to going up in the Empire State Building. We got right in with no lines, costs a lot less, and got practically the same view, if not better because you got to see the Empire State Building. Amazing views. Can't pass this up!
We were walking along the streets forever trying to find a resteraunt, when we just walked right into Rockefeller Center. We went for the week of thanksgiving and it was beautiful. They had most of the enormous christmas tree up. It was breath taking. Figuring out how to get down to the resteraunts was a little confusing at first, but then we ...
