It was okay. Not as interesting as I would have thought. The most interesting part was outside. But. the Shops for gifts was so Exspensive. They need to rethink that part. Security was great but It needs some work to become community Friendly to visitor's.

A really valuable experience

I feel that visiting the United Nations in NYC was a really valuable experience. It was definately worth the time and the money. I believe it is really important to see where the worlds important decisions are being made, and to educate ourselves on how they are made. I highly reccommend this visit.

Must See

Although it took a while to get in (Security check), it was worth the wait. The tour guides are from different countries and very knowledgable. My teenaged kids even enjoyed it and inspired them to volunteer to help other countries.
Get stamps made with your picture on them and be sure to send a postcard home from there.

I was not looking forward to taking the tour when I went on vacation, it didn't interest me at all. But it turned otu to be one of my favorite things on the trip and I would definatly go back. Good for families, tours done in many languages, interesting even if you're not really into history like me.

I felt that when i went to te UN head Quarters, there was a brilliant sense of peace which has really levelled me out since my return. Although i did also get a sense of restless ghosts although i am a Phsycic as a profession. You shoudl really go its great there, i really enjoyed it.
When you sit inside the Security Council chambers and you reflect on what all has taken place in that room, that alone is worth the time you take touring this lovely building along the East River. The tour is somewhat overpriced for the time they give you, I will say that. But that does not make it uninteresting, this is a lot more than ...
If you go you should definately take the tour it only takes about an hour and it is really pretty interesting. The guides are really educated on the history and excelence of the building and everything that goes on there, they have to pass a dificult test befor the can become a tour guide so that proves that they are smart and knoledgable about ...
We took an official tour here. It was very nice... very interesting and awesome. The guide was somewhat new? adn she was still awesome! They have nice cafe for guests and a very nice gift shop! You will definately learn alot oabout the UN and there role in piece missions. Very worth the effort :)
A very interesting place and had a really nice and kind tour guide (Dina, from Lebanon), who explained the history and values of the United Nations and its work around the world.
