The amount of masterpieces on view in one place is staggering. The museum is set up well and it's easy to find your way around. I always find something new that I fall in love with!
What a stuffy, dank boring place! Came here in June after many previous trips to NYC. Found the staff to be extremely unfriendly. In the egyptian area, I accidentally brushed against a huge stone slab and was reprimanded. I am 48 years old! The slab may have been eons old, but I am more delicate than that humongous thing. Was there on the day ...

From Frank Lloyd Wright to antiquities to modern art this museum has it all. Don't miss the American Wing, or the modern art section. Also the collection of attic pottery is extensive and well documented. A must see attraction!
One of my favorite museums. The first couple of times I was there I just couldn't find the pieces I wanted to see since the museum can be a little bit of a labyrinth. I think is better now that they follow the Louvre's technique of placing a picture of the highlights at their location on the map that they give you at the entrance.
The Met is a great place to get your dose of art and history. They have a comprehensive collection as a top museum. And best of all, you can get accultured for as little as a dime.
the met is a great place to check out but it is overwhelming in it's size. it's great cause it's pay as you wish but i'd combine a trip into the city on a friday night to also check out the gugenheim. on fridays six to eight it's pay as you wish at the gug so check out the met earlier and then walk up the block and see more ...
If you are a art lover, then you can't miss this one. Our whole experience was great. The building is so lovely, and the staff are friendly, and helpful. Once you tour, definately walk the street, and look at the art work out there too! Very relaxing.
I love the Met. The collection is extensive, and it's impossible to expect to see everything in one visit. The Textiles section on the lower level is my favorite to go see. Also, the atmosphere of the Egyptian section is awesome. And, if you get the chance, enjoy the view from the rooftop. The Met backs up to beautiful Central Park. There is always something to learn here, whether you're an artist or a history buff.
