This is just another part of the Ferry place. grand in it's own right. They do take you on some great view's of the city. Skyline and just all around atmosphere. Everyone can kinda guess what they will see when they load up. Has to be one of the places and attractions to go see.

U can see Manhattan skyscraper and be close to Statue of Liberty without paying a penny in this expensive city. My suggestion is start with this to see what NY looks like.

  • Love the Ferry
    By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/05/06
We loved the Staten Island Ferry. It goes directly in front of the Statue of Liberty with beautiful views of Ellis Island and the Manhatten skyline. I intend to take the trip again at night, I can only imagine how beautiful it would be. They trip is only 25 minutes each way and best of all FREE. You can't find a better sightseeing deal than that!

  • Relax

I enjoy the relaxing ride, enjoy the sights from the front deck. Don't go during rush hour and don't eat the food. I was born and raised on Staten Island and I always plan a trip on the train from Tottenville to St. George and then the Feryy ride.

  • Nice way to end the day
    By A Yahoo! Contributor, 09/07/05
The Staten Island Ferry is an excellent way to end a busy day of sightseeing in NYC. You can sit back on the ferry and enjoy spectacular views of the Statue of Liberty, Ellis Island, and lower Manhattan. If your feet are aching and looking for a nice place to rest, this is the place to go!

  • Beautiful View
    By A Yahoo! Contributor, 05/19/05
Okay, so it's not the Plaza -- it's not even the Observatory deck of the Empire State Building. However, the Staten Island Ferry is free ... and, if you take it at night in my opinion you'll catch the best view of the city and of the Statue of Liberty. It's worth your time! ... on a cool summer night --Beautiful!
