What is ghetto? Some people have a miscoception of what ghetto is. Just think if Coney Island was really ghetto, the real estate cost would be a lot lower. The avaerage single family house in CI goes for around 500,000 right now. The crime is not bad here except when outsiders come and rob people at the attractions. That don't happen like it sounds where we live cause we are a village. And it takes a village to make a difference.
I went to Coney Island a couple of weeks ago. I thought it would be the same and I was excited b/c I thought it had closed down but it didn't. The park has really went downhill. It is smelly, the tickets are expensive, and the rides need to be cleaned up. Also, the employees were just leaving rides and going wherever. For example, my step ...
It was like a beach in a bad part of town just nasty! Dirty getto! I will Never go back! It should be close down! It was nice back in the day but not today! If you do go keep your eyes open you might get robbed!
Great food, community. Beach cleaner than many. Ghetto is a character, not a community. If people act what is considered ghetto at Coney Island, then they are ghetto, not C. I.
I spent many a summer at Coney Island. My Grandmother lived there. I have so many wonderful memories. A long time ago, in the 1940's and 50's, was the best. We spent days at the beach, then at night, we'd go up on the boardwalk, and to the rides. I will never forget Coney Island, as that was some of the best times in my life.
LOOKED TERRIBLE,RIDES WEREN'T WORKING,DON'T THINK I WOULD HAVE LET MY GRANDDAUGHTER RIDE IF THEY WERE.. CITY SHOULD TAKE OVER AND ADD NEW RIDES, OR CLOSE IT...DOESN'T LIVE UP TO THE NAME.. I DIDN'T LIKE ANYTHING.;
run down and let go. gross. overpriced. cyclone was the only good thing about it. $8 for the cyclone, $5 for any other ride which is a rip off. but tuesdays in august are buy one get one free unlimited rides - get this wristband, called P.O.P (pay one price). it's normally $25.99 for one POP. overall, not worth the time or money. ghetto ghetto ghetto!
Growing up in Brooklyn, NY it was a great adventure to spend the day at Coney Island, walk the boardwalk until dark, and then stay for the weekly fireworks display. Imagine, fireworks every Tuesday night during the summer! What could be better than this?
One Tuesday our family had an extra special treat. My Dad had a friend with a boat. We ...
IF you are expecting Miami's South Beach or California's Venice Beach then sorry this isn't it. However, step back in time and that's the feeling you get from Coney Island, a little trashy, a little cheesy and you're on your way. An old style fairground, blended with a boardwalk - with probably the best people watching available ...
It's a great place to take the kids. They played on the beach during the day and early evening they played at the carnival. the next day we played at the aquarium.
