The Frick is a wonderful museum (collection, actually). I never write reviews, but after seeing a negative review of my favorite museum in NYC I had to write. Staff are extremely unfriendly and imposing which detracts from being able to move freely around.
Most pieces have no commentary / descriptions.
Best to go on Sundays between 1100 - 1300 as you can just make a donation for entry. It is not worth the full price!

Overall, the art collection is impressive, but the mansion itself holds many wonderful surprises for the visitor. The atrium/conservatory is beautiful. There is a guided tour available through a type of wand that is quite informative. A variety of languages is offered. The museum staffmembers were friendly and eager to offer assistance. So, if ...
