The West Indian American Day Carnival & Parade is a great event to interact with people from different Caribbean countries. If you are from the Caribbean, you would definitely see people you haven't seen in a long time. It is a fun filled event, with lots of great parties preceding the parade which takes place every Labor Day. It is a taste of what you can expect when you go to Trinidad for Carnival.

I have been attending the Labor Parade for the past six years straight (excluding 2005) and always manage to have the time of my life. I like the fact that ALL the Islands are represented on the parkway. Not just Trinidad or Jamaica, but everywhere including my beautiful Island GRENADA, where there are ...

It was my first time at the parade and honestly at first i was aprehensive about all the negative things i had heard, but as soon as we got there, there was nothing but love from everyone. Loud music, smiling faces, elaborate costumes and a feeling of unity was very evident. I loved the culture rich experience and would recommend anyone with an open mind to attend!! Ill be there next year for sure!

By A Yahoo! Contributer, 09/05/05
I read a previous review saying there too many people and they were drunk. Absolutely wrong. I was there for 4 hours and didn't see one inebriated person. There was a wide variety of food, colorful costumes and great music. I don't know what parade the other reviewer saw, but it was not this one. Everyone was friendly and courteous ...
