Even if you think you don't like cupcakes, go here. The coffee is hot and cheap and you can feel virtuous and have a juicy, hearty bran muffin. Open early, the staff was busy and let you get your own coffee and pay when you pleased. The marble tables and worn wooden chairs were like the kitchen in grandma's house you never had. The cupcakes are gorgeous little flowers you will love to oogle.
The place is wonderful it's well decorated. A great seating area. However their cupcakes are dry, the only thing good about them is the frosting and decoration. We will probably be going back there for their ice-cream and the friendly employees.
Why would a store call itself "Cupcake Cafe" and then proceed to serve some of the worst cupcakes in human history? These dry, flavorless blobs are reminiscent of a clot of dirt with Crisco smeared on top. Yeah, they look pretty. So what? I buy food to eat, not to stare at.
Cupcake is the best bakery in town! Cupcake will design a photo on your cake to the Tee. Also there Cupcakes are so good, you wouldn't want to share with anyone! Great Service and Short lines!!!
i lovd the shop because it gave me a homey feeling. it was cozy. It was one of those places where you imagine writers, and poets going to have some coffee...

Cute Store - Thick Cakes
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 03/17/08
I wanted a St. Patrick's Day treat, so I headed over to the Cupcake Cafe on 18th St., however the cupcake just as cute as it could be with shamrock frosting and all was somewhat hard and not that tasty. I think they must be premade or something and I will not be going there again. Especially at $3.50 a cupcake!

this place is legendary for their wonderful buttercream frosting and beautiful mini cakes. but the cake itself is thick and muffiny and the frosting is over buttered and slimy. ew. i like my frosting to be a little more substantial with a graininess from the sugar.
i'm not sure why it's become so popular over the years if this is the ...

Worst Ever!

I had heard so many things about the cupcake cafe that I decided to try it out for myself. Went to the 9th avenue store, which I found to be decorated quite unusual and not all that clean. There were 3 of us and we all ordered a different cupcake. The cupcakes tasted frozen and stale. I am a baker, so I know what I am talking about. I approached ...

Small cupcakes are $2.50 each - beautiful to look at with NO taste and the cafe is not the cleanest you could hope for......so, not worth it!
