I'm a professional chef that moved to NY in May of 2005 and have been eating my way across the city - it's insane what people call good food here. Prune is one of the best meals I've ever had! Well where do I start. The Food left A LOT to be desired.The menu consist of various items that are a little TOO Wierd. The price was outragious for 3 people it was $200.00 with 2 cocktails total. I think we should have came for brunch??? Our Friend who lives in NY loves this place we(From San Francisco) would have rather stayed home.

I was expecting a much better experience, given the hype of this restaurant. The profits on this business must be great considering the meals served. The radish appetizer was simply a plate of the vegetable, but at 3X what you would expect to pay. Don't be fooled by the 'popularity' of this restaurant -- I'm convinced that most of the people who eat here are first time prune-ers, and rarely return, how could they?

I first made my way to prune because a best friend of mine got a job there right out of culinary school. Over a year or so i have had many a meals there and not once have i been unsatisfied. If you are down near prune it is a must that you stop in for a drink or have a taste of something they have on an amazing menu. He has moved on but i still frequent Prune and have yet to eat something that is not fantastic! Go to PRUNE!!!

This place is TERRIBLE and OVERPRICED. The shrimp appetizer consists of a small plate of unpeeled boiled shrimp that is fishy tasting. The meals are bland and severely overpriced.
