Old Town has a wide variety of shops for every budget (I especially liked the Angel Store), a pleasant plaza and a beautiful old church. There are a number of museums within walking distance. I didn't try any of the restaraunts, but there seem to be plenty of them and the food smelled wonderful. The area was rather crowded when I was there, but ...

A must see

Visiting Old Town was like another plaza in NM. We had been to Taos and Sanfe Fe, both of which have plaza that are very similar....so in one way it is like the other two. It is however, something you just gotta do if you go to ABQ

So Much To See
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 09/14/06
Old Town is unbelieveable!! There is so much to do and see there. There are so many shops of different kinds....general store (old west style), craft shops where you can actually watch them making things from jewelry to clothes, artist shops, restaurant that is like stepping into an old hacienda for dinner. In the town square, in front of the ...
I loved the old Hispanic feel, boutiques and photo opps, crafts, and shaded porches and patios of Old Town. I'd suggest more entertainment available to bring people in - but the daily Bolivian ensemble was great. Safe to walk around days, and near the other museums for a family break.

Not much to do here
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 06/20/06
Lots of little shops, almost all of which close before the afternoon is over. Only found a few restaurants that were open for dinner on a Saturday night, and none looked like anything special.
Might be better during the day, but if you're looking for places to eat dinner and things to do in the evening, head downtown instead.

A Wonderful Experience

It is so unique, almost like a little tiny Santa Fe, except a little easier to navigate. There is definately something for everyone in this little attraction.

We love it!!!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 02/03/06
We really like old town and think it is a great place to go when you are in Albuquerque it a fabulous place and it is a thrill any time I or anyone is there.
Driving home from Santa Fe went out of our way to check out Old Town. This is the kind of place that great things could be done with, hope that they do. People were very nice, parking ok some nice galleries and resturants over all seemed like a thired of the shops were empty and some area need cleaning up. The rest of the city looked nice but not enough to stay over.

Unlike our reviewer from Raton (have you been to Raton?!?!? ) I loved old town and think it's the next hot tourist spot. The food is amazing especially La Placita..yum,yum. Oh, by the way Raton translates into rat.

very boring
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 09/15/05
Old town in abq is a boring dump. I don't think you should visit this place. I went there recently and some of the restaurants have their dumpsters right next to the door. I lost my appetite. There's also no place to park.
