I did not find the exploratorium worth the money they charge - $14. Also, make sure your kids are 10+ if you still insist to take your kids out for a 'science mueseum' experience. Single adults seriously skip this one!!
LOVED this place. Want to go back to SF because of the exploratorium. Soo much to do and soo little time. Check it out. I talked to Californians who had no idea this place existed. I spread the word.

we love this place!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 03/11/08
Great for kids and childlike adults. Fascinating! I hadn't been here since the mid-90's and it really has morphed into a great place with a wide variety of interactive exhibits to keep us busy for hours, if not days. I could barely get my nearly-11-year-old to leave!

FUN FOR ALL AGES
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 02/09/08
You don't have to be a kid to enjoy this place. Set aside a good chunk of the day to "explore" everything, the activities are completely interactive and are made to get the mind and senses working. Parking can get hairy the later you go (think other tourists and school field trips) so arrive early. Price varies but with City Pass ...

Must must see
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/25/07
First of all, set aside a full day for this place. We got there in the afternoon and only made it through about a third of the building because we were having so much fun. Everything in the "museum" is hands on and great for kids and adults alike. Free ticket comes with the City Pass, along with unlimited bus and trolley rides and various tours.

Great place for kids and adults
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 09/09/07
Fabulous hands on place for kids and adults. The upstairs is for kids older than 7 years. Definitely go up but the adults most likely will want to stay upstairs longer than the younger children.
There is a park right next door that is ideal for having the kids run around before heading inside.
I would recommend others to go!

A very nice photo-taking point
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/21/07
It's a beautiful photo-taking, sight-seeing point that you want to visit if you go to San Francisco. You also want to visit Golden Gate bridge as it is only 5 minutes away.
A great experience for all ages. It's amazing the wonders you learn about there. Who knew looking at water freezing through a polarized lense was so incredibly beautiful! The first Wednesday of every month is free, and while that makes it a bit crowded, the building is so huge that it's not a big deal. Otherwise defnitely worth the $14.
This is a hands-on museum for kids and adults alike. I went with three other adults and we stayed until closing because we were having so much fun. Divided into different sections (Life Sciences, Seeing, Hearing, etc), you can play with various exhibits. Just outside, is a beautiful lake, grass, and fantastic architecture. This was definitely worth the money. The only negative was their poorly organized cafe.
