As an adult or a kid, this is a fun and educational event! It's free on the first Tues. or Wed. of the month (like most things are in SF) on those dates. It could take-up your whole day, or you could go to the parks right outside and enjoy the views! Exercise is just a step away...
This place is great to see different scientific stuffs. It is great for student of all ages. Some fun scientific stuffs to observe for everybody. Only problem this closes at 5pm. So you have to be there by 3pm to see it properly.

This museum is so worth checking out especially if you have kids. I went with 3 other adults and it was so much fun. There are so many things to see and do, that you have to go back another day to experience it all.
This exploratorium is like no other. Lots of hands-on things to do, like looking at how wind moves a boat, how to make your own tornado, and lots more! I recommend it to all ages.
It was also worth it. Lots of things to do on a low price.
Great space for all ages and housed in one of the early turn of the century exhibit spaces.
Stong suggestion if you have the $$ and the time to explore the Tactile Dome.

My family loved this place. From touching tornados to creating cloud rings there was so much to see and do.
I loved the visual perception exhibits and my kids loved the tactile dome where they took a journey through total darkness.
If you have kids in the pre-teen to early teenage range, then this is a place you definitely want to see. They have lots of hands on experiements for the kids. Lots of quirky little information bits for the adults too. That was pretty cool, but on the downside....there was lots of outdoor construction/rehab going on right now. Therefore, many of ...
Although it can be somewhat noisy at times, it is a very fun and interesting place with lots to learn for the kids. Lots of hands on experiences for all ages.
