Very cool tunnel tanks filled with all kinds of fish from San Francisco Bay. You walk through the tunnels and shark actually swim over your head and next to you. Pretty jelly fish, too. Lots of helpful staff to answer your questions. Lots less expensive than most aquariums I've been to lately, so the 40 minutes it took to visit the exhibits was well worth the money.
We go to San Francisco almost every year for the fourth of July and the aquarium is one of the best part. I would recommend that you add it to your trip and then after enjoy the plaza. The aquarium is nice and a good place to take pictures.

Waste of Time

Extremely disappointing. Expected a lot more being right next to the bay. We were able to walk through in about 10 minutes. Spent about the same amount of time waiting for the elevator to take me downstairs. You will walk in a tunnel under the water, which is interesting, but not worth the price to enter. The largest shark is only 3 feet long. ...

Loved It!

This was a great place for both kids and adults. It was really neat to be able to interact with the sealife. It took me about ten minutes work up the courage to touch the sharks but it was well worth it!

Aquarium of the Bay ROCKS!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 04/19/06
My girlfriend and I just loved this Aquarium. We're big nature lovers and this aquarium gave us an up-close look at the animals found right there in San Francisco Bay. We especially loved the touch pools where we could touch...yes, touch...some of the animals including sharks! The naturalists we spoke with really knew their stuff which ...

Poor value for what's there
By Skippy, 11/22/05
Ticket admission for one adult is about $13. I took a good look at everything in the aquarium, and I was in and out within 30 minutes. This is third aquarium that I have ever been to - Virginia Beach and Seattle before this one. Aquarium of the Bay had the fewest exhibits and diversity of sealife out of the three aquariums I have been to. Staff I saw seemed withdrawn. I would not recommend this to anyone.

By fuzzbutt2417, 11/14/05
My husband and I visited here while on vacation and had a blast here. I admit I was a little disappointed at first with the limited amount of animals on display on top but then we took the elevator down and that changed everything.
The tour starts on the second level up where you can get up close to see different features in small tanks, very ...

Amazing to see what is in the San Francisco Bay
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 01/11/05
It was great to see what types of marine life are living in the San Francisco Bay. The Sharks and Rays were my favorite. The wolf and moore eels are amazing to see. The anchovies swimming as a family are beautiful.
