Used to live in So-Cal in the 80's. In August my son (22) and I took a vacay to Cali which took us from San Fran - San Diego. San Francisco was easily the shining gem of all our destinations. SF gets a lot of bad press here in the Midwest but we found it absolutely charming. I guess maybe because we are tolerant of different points of view ...

great place, scary height, beautiful scenery, friendly people who will honk and say hi to tourists and studen field trips. Hold on to you kids' hands and dont let them run loose!

I had one day to go to San Francisco and it was pouring down and fog when we got there. Luckily by late afternoon the fog had rolled out and I finally got to see the bridge.

We drove out and parked and we just started walking, before we knew it we were on the other side.

The bridge is amazing. Walk it, bike it, drive it... It's beautiful from any directions and any side. Definitely recommend going there at night. You could rent a bike, ride it across and then take a ferry back.

i love the majestic setting that the bridge displays as you go across or near it. it leaves you in awe and makes appreciate human ingenuity.

I loved watching and taking pictures of the seals. I liked the variety of fish foods available at the different ports.Overall, this trip was one of my best ever. I give San Francisco, California four star for the variety of activities and foods.

I disliked the fact that it was too cold and windy.

I thought the $5 toll was a bit excessive, but other than that it is something everyone has to do when they go to San Francisco

It's only $5 to cross and only on the way into San Francisco while we were there. It's something that you have to do once while you're there. Also, on the Sausalito side, make sure you stop in at the vista just across the bridge for some breathtaking views.
